This week has had its ups and downs to say the least.
I had an eye appointment on Wednesday for a routine check-up… I had cataract surgery a few years back and have to go annually to see if anything has changed.
My appointment was at 7:45am (I like to get an early start 😁)
We also had a Beginners Advantage Coaching call that started at 6:30 am on Wednesdays for me since my Mentors are in the UK and I believe they are 6 hours ahead of my time zone.
The Machine Shop opens at 6:00 am, so I leave the house between 4:30am and 5:00am. I arrive at the shop around 5:30am to get all the machines set up and ready to run for the day before my employees arrive.
Sometimes I can join our coaching sessions “Live”, but if I can’t join Live, I get to catch the recordings which are posted to our members area.
By the time I got all my “Ducks in a Row”‘🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 It was time to leave for my Eye Appointment.
I arrive in front of the Eye Center 30 minutes early, now I must find a place to park since it’s downtown…
The Eye Center does have its own parking deck but the height limit is 6’8” and my Locksmith van is 7’ high so I drive through a paid parking area a block away only to find absolutely no empty spaces…
Right behind this lot is a parking deck for Childrens Hospital so I decided to check there… I realize there is a lot of construction going on and most of the side street parking areas are blocked off. I entered the parking deck to find a security guard standing at the entrance. He was there to ensure only “Childrens Hospital” related people were parking in their parking deck. He kindly suggested other areas that I could look for places to park.
After several trips around the area without finding a spot to park, I opted to go to another public parking deck… It just happened to be 4 Blocks away and I found a parking spot on the 6th level.
By this time, I was late and had to make the 4-block walk to the doctor’s office. Luckily, they worked me in and performed the check-up, proceeded to do a laser cleaning of the inside of my left eye lens (Don’t have a clue how that works, but it did) scheduled a follow-up appointment 1 month out (at a more accessible location by request…😉) and I was on my way back to my vehicle… 4 blocks away.
Thursday was a “Catch Up” day. I arrived at the Machine Shop at 5:00am and by the time I finished my last key make, I made it home at 10:00pm.
Friday arrives and again I open the shop at 5:30am and get all the machines up and running and prepare for a “MRI” that I am having on my lower back. I have it scheduled for 9:30am and I am supposed to arrive at 9:00am. I leave the shop at 8:30am since it’s a local downtown Hospital where I am having it done.
I arrive and get signed in and fill out the proper remaining paperwork. They put a printed-out armband on my right wrist and gave me some other paperwork to give to the MRI tech. On the way down the hall, I happened to glance down at the paperwork and I noticed that under “AGE” it happened to say 62… I’m 56 🤔… Then I noticed the name… The first name “David” was correct, but the last name was different.
I made a “U-Turn” (I believe that’s legal in a hospital hallway 😉) and return to the check-in desk. I exchanged the paperwork and armband for the correct ones and proceeded back down the hallway to the MRI waiting room.
The process took about 20 minutes, and I was through. If you have never had an MRI be prepared for a somewhat confined space and lots of noise… I just pretend that I’m inside a Very Large and Very Old Typewriter… (You will understand exactly what I mean when the time comes)
After I’m done, I head back to the parking deck to find my Van.
THEN…. On my way out of the parking deck… I see this! 😲🤔🤣
I GUESS THAT’S ONE WAY TO “GIT-R-DONE”
