Ever have one of those days that starts off bad?… I mean, like when you wake up, you think to yourself… π€ (This is going to be a GREAT DAY! π) Only to step in π© before you get started?
It seems the only thing that could make it worse, is if you literally stepped in “POO” when you woke up.
Today was one of those days for me…
When “Life” becomes stressful, WE have a choice to make…
1.) We can choose to let it totally ruin our day. π€’π©π
2.) We can choose to find a way to make it better. πππ€
I like to think of myself as an Optimist… Things could always be worse, but they are going to get better.
Look at whatever happened as an attempt to throw you off course, knock you off that ladder, get you distracted from what really matters, and get you stuck in this “I don’t Feel like it!” Attitude…π‘π€¬
NOTICE I SAID “an ATTEMPT”
Take a Deep breath… (or two in some cases π€£)
Decide that you will NOT let it control you. Realize that you have control over your own attitude and mind set…
You may not be able to change the attitude of others, but you can change your own.
When I have these days, I Focus on my “WHY” more than ever…Β Wipe my feet… and focus on what matters…
I have noticed, by facing your issues in this manner, that smell may take a little time to go away, but it will fade as your focus increases.
Be assured, if the smell is what you’re focused on, it will last for a very, very, very long time.
You Decide!
I did! π₯°
Absolutely! We get to choose.
When I was teaching, my principal told me I determined the atmosphere in my classroom. I told him he was wrong. Sometimes, the students don’t like the book they’re reading, and they definitely don’t like vocabulary day. He told me he was right and to give it a try.
Well, guess what? I did have ultimate control over how it felt to be in my classroom.
The same goes for our days.
Here’s to a beautiful week ahead!
My mornings often start off good then bad! And you are so right itβs how we decide to feel. Keep pushing forward.
Thanks Sandy
Harper, your words, “You may not be able to change the attitude of others, but you can change your own,” are incredibly powerful. I often fall into the trap of letting my thoughts lead me down a negative spiral; this is a great reminder of just how powerful our thoughts are and how important it is to stay positive and not fall into the trap; thank you so much for the reminder, I needed this today.
Yes, your words resonate with me, we do have the power to decide how we respond to situations. I have a favorite quote that I use often (in my training) as it is for me very powerful. It’s a quote from Wayne Dyer, though I’ve seen it in different forms so it feels organic. It is something like this, ‘When or if you change the way you look at things the things you look at change’.
Look forward to reading and enjoying more of your posts.
Yes! Less focus on the smell eh. Focus on my “why” certainly does it.
I believe this to be a rather bad example but I was riding our local light rail transit into the downtown area recently and I overheard a conversation. The guy was saying that if he was having a bad day, all he needed to do was to ride the train downtown and watch the folks outside that were having an even worse day than him. It just gave him encouragement that things could be worse. Yep. Bad example. π

You are absolutely speaking my language! I like to think of myself as an optimist, too.. and just when I say those words out loud, I am often challenged, as if someone is saying, “oh yeah?” It’s those days that you have to laugh it off… because there’s just no other choice. Thank you for the reminder that we are not alone.. and everyone is entitled to some Crappy (with a capital “C”) days! Keep on keepin’ on!
Yes….. I used to tell my kids “If you can’t change the situation, and you are unhappy about it, change your attitude”. It really is up to us how we respond to adversity! Thanks for the reminder

I could agree more! Mindset is so powerful. We canβt control what happens around us, but we can control how we react and act around others.
I took a lot of comfort in your post as I think we have had similar weeks. Thank you so much for sharing
HI David,
Agreed, sometimes we wake up and have a bad day. Sometimes its several days.
Before embarking this affiliate marketing, my bad days were literally like a chronic condition. It lasted a long time.
Now I’m doing better for different reason. One of those reason is that now I look forward to continue on this journey of affiliate marketing with Dean!
Sometimes we need to clearly know what our mission is and a plan to achieve it. This can motivate us to get up from our bad days.
Thank you for sharing.

David, I had a day like that today. In fact my weekend was like that. Nothing was working. My test emails werenβt working. I couldnβt get any support from the helpdesk. There is a load of family stuff going on and overall it just brings you down and this is where the fixed mindset and growth mindset help. With a growth mindset you will accept it as a learning. Youβll make some adjustments and your carry on. Or you just say oh well itβs happened and you just keep going. Just remember good times are around the corner we just have to keep going. Well done and talk to you soon. Thanks, Atif.
David,
Attitude is everything! It is like a garden you can plant weeds or you can plant seeds. the choice is yours.
After having been through a lot junk in life I leaned the valuable lesson that there is good in every situation if you look for it. As you mentioned we can focus on the junk or we can focus on the good we can find in the situation. When focusing on the junk it make one miserable.
Instead focus on the blessing and your spirit will be lifted.
We control our mind and thoughts, it is up one’s self to choose to blessed or miserable.
Thanks for the mental reminder.

Hi David,
I have many of those days! Sometimes I have a night of nasty dreams and instead of waking up and stepping in poo I feel like mentally and emotionally I have crapped the bed before even getting up π We do have the choice what to do. I admit I haven’t always chosen well, especially when exhausted. I do much better now π
Continue to wish you success and see you in your next post!
