I have realized over the past few weeks that life has a way of introducing “Bumps in the Road” to make us slow down when needed… even if we don’t want to.
The results of an MRI I had last week came back with Herniated Disc on L4 and L5. Anybody that knows me well knows that I am not one to slow down even at my age…
You ever have those days where you try to “relax” and not do much, only to become aggravated because you feel you haven’t accomplished anything?
I’m that type of person… (Just ask my wife…๐คฃ)
I asked the doctor what he suggested I do to “Help” the situation with my back. He asked what I normally do…
My reply:
I’m a Full Time Machinist / Programmer / Foreman, at a local machine shop, I’m a Full Time Locksmith with my own company, I’m a Full Time Grandparent which has 13 grandkids and one of those is a Granddaughter with Spina Bifida (we are tight!) anywhere she wants to go… We go!
His Reply:
And you Carry Her Right?
My Reply:
ABSOLUTELY!
His Reply:

I am still able to do things, just not at the same pace I am used to.
One thing slowing down has allowed me to do is to spend that precious time with my “WHY” (Harper Grace)
She notices EVERYTHING! Every little detail!
She can hear an airplane and she points up to the sky… See that vapor trail, points, and says “Airplane!”… See a bird flying over the trees on the next ridge and points and says “Bird!”… She can watch “Bluey” and know what’s coming up before it happens (if you have Grandkids, you know who Bluey is… if you don’t, it’s one of the best animations out there for kids in my opinion)
What I’m trying to say… Even if you move at a slower pace… whether it’s building a business, running a business, or even spending time with your “WHY”… as long as you keep moving forward you are making progress! Continue taking that one step at a time and you will reach your destination!
Re-discover your “Why” the reason behind what you do. You may even have to slow down every once in a while, to truly appreciate it… and pay attention to the details!
Use that “Slow Down Time” to focus on the details of your business, write some emails, make a few Blog Posts, or even discuss those important business matters with your partner…
