Wow, time flies by so quick these days.
It seems the older I get, the faster the clock spinsâŠ
With the Overtime still going on at the Machine Shop, it has become very hard to squeeze in time to work on our online business. In fact, even the Locksmith business has suffered a little.
I must continue to focus on the future and remind myself that itâs the âDestinationâ I need to reach. There will be times, during your Journey, you must pull over at a rest stop, stop to get gas, pull over and stretch your legs, maybe even stop and ask for directions. đș Itâs ok, in fact, some of these âBreaksâ are almost a requirement. Do not get caught up in the âIt Must Happen Now!â group, it will happen in time, if you keep moving forward.
We are continuing to make progress and looking at ways in which we can tweak our ads. We are running a basic âLead Adâ with Facebook and offering our âAvoiding the Pitfallsâ lead magnet. We have been using the same basic ad for a while. We noticed our CPL (Cost Per Lead) has increased which indicates we need to adjust and try to bring the cost back down.
We have thought about doing something with Video and we may ask for help and advice from those more knowledgeable than ourselves in that area. Fortunately, I know some people that may be able to guide us, so to those people, we want to say, âThanks in Advance!â đ.
Coaching and asking for help almost certainly cuts down on your learning curve. At present, ANY “time” we can save, will benefit the business.
I remember when an uncle of mine raced cars at dirt tracks. He would say, âYou have to turn right, to turn leftâ. If you heard someone say those same words, and you didnât know about âShort Track Racing on Dirtâ, you probably would think that person was crazy. Once you understand how the racetrack is designed, the way you set up the car, and how the car handles, you are well on your way to understanding what those words mean.
The natural force of âTurning Leftâ puts pressure on the rear of the car to roll out from under you. The faster you accelerate, the more of that pressure is applied. If you donât anticipate that movement and adjust for it, you will end up spinning around in circles. Sure, usually the track itself is “Banked” slightly on the “straight-a-ways” and the corners on the tracks are âBankedâ even more. (I believe “Coaching” and “Mentoring” would represent the track) This design helps keep you on the track and reduces that pressure. Ultimately, the driver must make adjustments and they do so by turning âRightâ when the rear of the car starts to âSlideâ.
In the process, you will discover the steering wheel is being turned to the âRightâ (Clockwise), the rear of the car is sliding to the right, but the vehicle you are in, stays on the âCounterclockwiseâ track.
This issue is explained in a somewhat cute way, in the movie âCarsâ. You can follow this link to see it >>> https://youtu.be/_ss9nd-tImc <<<
(You may, at times, want to question why your Coach or Mentor suggest you do something. Remember, they are there to HELP. It’s your choice to listen and apply their advice, or figure it out on your own…)
In short, what Iâm trying to say, âYou will have to make adjustmentsâ
If you are going at a slower pace, the adjustments which need to be made may be somewhat minor. If you happen to have a more aggressive pace, the adjustments you need to make may also need to be more aggressive. Either way, you will need to make adjustments along the way and that is just part of Life and running a business.
Do Not be afraid to adjust and make changes when needed.
Harper Says:
Whether in Life or Business…
Growth will require Adjustments to be made.
If your path gets rough… ADJUST!
If your ready to tackle new areas… ADJUST!
Reaching your destination WILL require changes to be made…
