Two things that are a “Must Have” when building an Online Business in Affiliate Marketing besides your “WHY”
- Time
- Patience
Let’s discuss “Time” first… (Which I have very little of at the moment…)
Time as defined by Webster – the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues.
We all know that once time is gone, it’s gone forever! How we decide to use it greatly affects what we can and will accomplish in a certain period.
Like myself, you will need to prioritize certain tasks in order to get them done in a timely fashion. My daytime Machine Shop job is the “Bill Payer” presently, so I tend to make sure the shop is taken care of. We are presently on 10-hour days with Saturdays included. This ensures that I can supply our customers’ needs and the business continues to run smoothly.
Does this mean you will not run into problems? Not at all! In Fact, I would almost Guarantee that you will. It’s how you handle those problems when they come up which will decide whether you continue to make progress.
As an example, since I’m the Foreman at the shop, my job is to make sure our machines are running properly. Unlike many shops, I hold the title of “Maintenance Man” as well. If something breaks, I fix it if possible. Sometimes it means that I must make a part, other times I may have to call an electrician or electronics guy to get our machines back up and running. You must do what you have to do…
I know you have heard that old phrase, “Time is Money”. That will apply to most businesses when it comes to problems…
How long will it take for me to diagnose and fix the problem?
Do I make a judgement call and bring in someone to work on the issue?
Will I spend more time trying to fix the issue at hand, postponing other job duties, than it would cost to bring in an expert?
I can’t answer these questions for you, in your particular situation; however, I MUST answer them for myself and the shop. I am trusted to do so to the best of my ability.
I am also the “Human Resources Officer” when it comes to settling problems and disputes between employees.
I am also the “Customer Relations” contact when any of our customers have issues. Sometimes it turns out not to be a problem with our parts, but it is a problem with their machine or process…
Other titles that I often carry are:
CNC Programmer and Operator, Machinist, CAD Designer, Mold Designer and Builder, Machine Designer and Builder, Machine Instructor, Janitorial Personnel, Hiring Agent, Firing Agent, Quality Control and Inspection Dude… and many more.
Prioritize your tasks in matter of importance, otherwise you will end up like a Dog chasing it’s tail and not accomplishing much more than running around in circles.
SECOND, LET’S TALK ABOUT PATIENCE!
Without Patience you will surely give up on the task you wish to accomplish.
Webster defines Patience as: The suffering of afflictions, pain, toil, calamity, provocation or other evil, with a calm, unruffled temper; endurance without murmuring or fretfulness.
SOUNDS AWFUL DOESN’T IT?
I believe this is one of the hardest things to master. Learning patience comes easy, or should I say, “lessons to teach you patience” comes easy.
If you noticed, the definition didn’t say “maybe”, it said “SUFFERING OF”!
The only way you will learn is to go through the trials, hardships, errors, and hair pulling tasks until you find the answer.
But that’s not Patience… YET!
Patience is mastered when while going through all the Afflictions, Pain, Toil…etc, you can do it without pulling your hair out, saying bad words, or throwing your computer against the wall. 😁
You know EXACTLY what I mean, and those times come all to often when you are learning new things.
Realize that the bad time will and must come for you to master Patience and show it that you are not afraid! You can OVERCOME and Make it through!
I have said over and over, the reason I CAN and WILL succeed is because of my “WHY”
She is my Driving Force!
Having someone to hold you by the hand through those tough times is huge as well and I must thank my Mentor, Dean Holland, for that. He has gone above and beyond what most people would, and the coaches he has chosen, Sophie and Glenn, do the same as well.
For more information on Dean’s Program “Internet Profits” you can follow the link. There is no obligation and it might be the one thing you are looking for.
