If you have been following our Blog, then you know we have been changing over to the new Affiliate System.
We are still learning the new system and will continue to learn daily.
We have been testing our links, workflows, emails… All the things that go with customer acquisition and customer retention…
We made a HUGE mistake… 😢
We are adding it to the list of things that prove we are HUMAN.
We created two workflows… When a potential lead fills out our Facebook Lead Form on one of our Ads and clicks to submit, they are sent to Workflow #1 and given a “Single Opt-in” Tag. (This Lead has shown an interest in what we have to offer through our Ad)
Workflow #1 – sends a “Request to Confirm” email to the address the Lead provided in the form. This is the only purpose of Workflow #1. Several functions are performed by this simple yet powerful Workflow. It verifies that we did indeed obtain a valid email address, confirms that it is not a BOT or SPAM request, and insures us that the Lead wants to hear from us. All these steps are performed when the link in the email is clicked to “Confirm” (Simple Yet Powerful, You Agree?)
Workflow #2 – is activated by a “Trigger Link” we attached in the Confirmation Email our lead received in Workflow #1. The Trigger Link is the URL address of one of our website pages. This page gives an additional “Bonus training” as well as other offers, while they wait for their “Free Gift” Lead Magnet to arrive in their inbox. When this Trigger Link is activated, the lead is given a “Confirmed Opt-in” Tag and is added to an email sequence which begins to send them emails at pre-determined times. (Our emails are scheduled to send one email a day for five days, then whenever we feel we need to share other important information with our list… An Example would be when we make a blog post)
It’s funny (not really…) how things can look identical but be so different… Sample Below… 👀

The Middle link is a working link that will take you to our “Iceberg Effect Bridge Page”
The Third link is a working Link as well and will take you to the same “Iceberg Effect Bridge Page”. This link, however, is a “Trigger Link” and will add you to our email sequence. This link should be the one added to a “Confirmation Required” email. If you went through our first workflow, received the confirmation email, and decided to click on the link to confirm, it would add the “Confirmed Opt-in” tag to your information… (Don’t worry, if you clicked it, you could always unsubscribe, but only if you would rather skip out on our Journey and take a bus… 😉)
Where we made the HUGE mistake is by using the second form of the link instead of the third. We directed the lead to our site, but they didn’t get added to our workflow email sequence. Worse than that, our first email in that workflow is the one that delivers the Free “Lead Magnet” they requested… 😭.
SO ONCE YOU STEP IN IT…. HOW DO YOU RECOVER?
We ended up sending our entire list an email with an Apology for missing this minor detail and that we realized that their Free PDF may not have made it to their Inbox. We added a link, to our Free Lead Magnet, into that same email. We added a Tag to all the leads that received the email and added them to the next step in our workflow #2.
